What to Expect
We stick to a time-tested international structure with most of our meetings.
See an example of a typical agenda.
The first half of our meeting includes welcomes, introductions, and an explanation of how the session will run. We then dedicate time to prepared speeches delivered by members working through their chosen curriculum.
After a short break, we move into the impromptu-speaking segment called “Table Topics.” This fun and unpredictable activity encourages guests and members alike to give 1-2 minute speeches on the spot, with no prior preparation.
The final part of the meeting is reserved for evaluations, where members provide constructive feedback on the prepared speeches and Table Topics, helping everyone improve their speaking skills.
Your First Meeting as a Guest
Not at all if you don’t want to. Typically we ask you to stand up and introduce yourself at the start of the meeting and we’ll invite you to join our table-topics competition – but it’s important you feel safe and comfortable with us so, if you’d prefer to just observe, just let us know.
It’s totally free to attend as a guest – and you can come as often as you like. Membership is only required if you want to follow our training program, participate in prepared speeches, or take on other roles during meetings.
Not at all. Just show up. If you would like to tell us you’re coming though, we’ll have somebody look out for you and make sure you’re settled in.
We recommend bringing your phone with you. We’ve gone digital and it’ll help you to vote and give feedback on the speakers.
As we need somebody to collect you at the ground floor entrance, there will be a sign with our WhatsApp group details on it. Just join the group and send a message that you’re at the entrance and somebody will come down to collect you.
