What to Expect

We stick to a time-tested international structure with most of our meetings.

See an example of a typical agenda.

The first half of our meeting includes welcomes, introductions and explanations of how the meeting will run.

We dedicate time for prepared speeches.  These are from our members who are working through their chosen curriculum.

After the break we dedicate the time to an impromptu-speaking session known as “Table Topics”.  This is a fun activity that guests are encouraged to join us for.  Here each participant is called upon to give a 1-2 minute impromptu speech without preparation.  It’s always unpredictable, fun and very varies.

The final part of our meeting is for evaluations of the prepared speeches and table-topics

Your First Meeting as a Guest

Not at all if you don’t want to.  Typically we ask you to stand up and introduce yourself at the start of the meeting and we’ll invite you to join our table-topics competition – but it’s important you feel safe and comfortable with us so, if you’d prefer to just observe, just let us know.

It’s totally free to attend as a guest – and you can attend as often as you like.  We only require membership if you’d like to follow our training program and participate in the prepared speeches.

Not at all.  Just show up.  If you would like to tell us you’re coming though, we’ll have somebody look out for you and make sure you’re settled in.

We recommend bringing your phone with you.  We’ve gone digital and it’ll help you to vote and give feedback on the speakers.

As we need somebody to collect you at the ground floor entrance, there will be a sign with our WhatsApp group details on it.  Just join the group and send a message that you’re at the entrance and somebody will come down to collect you.
